About Me
Allison Smith is a debut novelist based in New York City. Her unique storytelling sensibilities are informed by a diverse background spanning science, journalism, and the culinary arts.
She received her B.A. in Environmental Science from New College of Florida, where she first honed her editorial voice working as a writer and editor for the school newspaper. Melding her love for the environment with culinary history, she completed training at the Natural Gourmet Institute, immersing herself in historical and international cooking techniques.
Through her fiction, Allison builds rich worlds that explore themes of ecology, global history, food systems, intergenerational connections, and the raw realities of mental health struggles. When she isn't writing at her desk in the city, she can be found backpacking through wild, remote terrains, pulling narrative inspiration directly from the raw textures of the wilderness.
